Today’s card features gold foil and Wplus9 stamps. While I am still in the throes of the annual Christmas-card-creating frenzy, I’ve taken a break from usual themes to to a birthday card.
Poinsettias are replaced by sketchy peonies by Wplus9 and red and green have given way to black, white and gold. The result is an elegant, graphic card with a variegated metallic shine.
I’ve been wanting to use all the golden bits and baubles that I’ve been hoarding, so I let loose and went overboard on the embellishment. I think the recipient will enjoy the shine.
The interior of the peonies were first stamped with a solid image using Duo glue by US ArtQuest. This is a milky glue that dries sticky. It gives the foil something to adhere to. For foil, I’m using Verdigris gilding flakes by Cosmic Shimmer. I stamped the sketchy outline over the foil using Ranger Archival ink. Finally, I die cut the stamped images with the Pretty Peonies matching die set by Wplus9.
A sentiment by Hero Arts and a scattering of tiny gold beads and sequins completes the look.
