Today I am creating a cute spring or summer birthday card using products by Gina K Designs and Therm-o-Web. Also featured is the Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion by Ranger. I show you three ways to use the tool to help make a card and I give helpful pointers and tips when working with the board.
The Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion is a 12″ square metal board that comes with hanging hardware, 4 disc magnets and a ruler printed on a thin flexible magnet.
The board makes a great surface to take projects with you on the go or to the living room to watch TV. It is sturdy and the magnets hold well.
The board is printed with 1/4 ” grid lines in thin white paint and 1″ lines are a little bolder. These lines make it easy to use a ruler to line up die cuts, stickers or card layers.
The disc magnets are encased in a metallic shell with a foam bottom. This makes them easier to work with, yet still hold projects firmly to the board. The magnets hold cardstock and stencils in place so that you don’t need to use tape.
You can use the magnets to hold cardstock or vellum on to the board while embossing – as long as you heat the heat tool up VERY well before applying it to your project. The board and magnets get hot, so be very careful!
To keep the board clean, you can use a piece of non-stick craft mat or even Glad Press ‘n Seal (look for it at your grocery store!)
Do not clean the board with a solvent cleaner or use rubbing alcohol. It will remove the grid lines! Ultra Clean also damages the white lines. Baby wipes work fine.
