Does it YUPO?

Today I experiment with the We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill pen on Yupo and then create a beautiful foiled design on an alcohol ink background.

Today’s video:

The Foil Quill pen works like a heated sketch pen and transfers a special heat-activated foil to your project. There are 3 pen widths:  Fine, Medium / Standard, and Broad. Each heat pen transfers a different amount of foil. You can hand write with it, however it is designed to be used with a digital die cut machine (Cricut, Cameo, Portrait, etc).

First up, experimenting on a plain piece of Yupo. I hand wrote “Hello” and the foil transferred beautifully with no damage to the plastic “paper”.

The other cool tool in this video is the Stay-tion by Wendi Vecchi.  It is a metal grid board with a magnetic ruler and magnetic disks that hold your foil in place as you work on your desk. It is very cool.

I am using designs from the Paige Evans Design Drive by We R Memory Keepers and by the Silhouette Studio Design Store.  The alcohol inked background was created using regular alcohol inks and alcohol ink pearls by Tim Holtz and Ranger.

You can see the Alcohol Pearl shimmer in this close up.

Please be sure to observe all safety instructions with this tool. It gets very hot and could burn.

I am always interested in hearing what kind of cardmaking, papercraft and mixed-media projects and ideas you want to see.

Thank you coming by!
