diy-scroll-web

Hello!

Today’s project is a DIY Scroll that is wrapped in a soft, colorful tassel tie and housed in a wooden box. I created this for a friend who was looking for a custom-printed scroll that was larger than what was available on the market for wedding invitations.  The finished scroll is about 12-1/2″ from tip to tip and the paper is a standard 8-1/2″ wide. Since I used art paper, the length of the unrolled scroll is almost 20″.

The finished product is the only picture I have. I put the detailed ingredient list below in case you want to make your own scroll.  If you have any questions, let me know.

Thanks for looking!

Stephanie

• Paint (Folk Art Metallic Antique Copper & American Lamp Black)
• Varnish (DecoArt DuraClear in Satin)

Scroll Paper
• Canson Mi Teintes art paper cut to 8-1/2 wide (Egg Shell)
• Microsoft Word (set custom page size to 8-1/2” x 25” I left about a 3” margin on the top and bottom of the paper)
• Wrights single fold bias tape (to help anchor the paper to the dowel)
• Staple gun
